What distinguishes TED University’s MA Program in Political Science and International Relations from other programs?

TED University’s Master’s Program in Political Science and International Relations (with and without thesis) will be the only graduate program in Ankara that brings together the disciplines of Political Science and International Relations. Considering that the number of such programs is quite limited across Turkey, it offers a unique opportunity for students who wish to pursue graduate-level research in this field.

Another feature that sets the program apart is the wide range of elective courses offered in English.

What courses are offered in the MA Program in Political Science and International Relations?

Students enrolled in the Thesis MA Program must successfully complete a total of 7 courses (equivalent to 21 credits or 52.5 ECTS), one non-credit seminar course (7.5 ECTS), and a master’s thesis to fulfill the 120 ECTS graduation requirement. The following courses are mandatory: Political Theory, Theories of International Relations, Research Methods and Ethics, Thesis Preparation Seminar, and Master’s Thesis I–II. Elective courses include: Turkish Foreign Policy, Contemporary Political Ideologies, Global Political Economy, Political Movements in Turkey, Political Sociology, World History, Theories of Democracy, Selected Readings in Contemporary Political Theory, Constructions of Gender and Political Thought in Turkey, New Directions in Global Politics, and Theorizing Masculinities.

Students enrolled in the Non-Thesis MA Program must successfully complete 10 courses (equivalent to 30 credits or 75 ECTS) and a graduation project (15 ECTS), reaching a total of 90 ECTS. The following courses are mandatory: Political Theory, Theories of International Relations, Research Methods and Ethics, and Graduation Project. Elective courses include: Turkish Foreign Policy, Contemporary Political Ideologies, Global Political Economy, Political Movements in Turkey, Political Sociology, World History, Theories of Democracy, Selected Readings in Contemporary Political Theory, East Asian Politics, Constructions of Gender and Political Thought in Turkey, New Directions in Global Politics, and Theorizing Masculinities.
